Khatta Meetha -- Funny Kick To Corruption

I won't say that i'm a huge fan of Akshay Kumar movies. especially because he is making some really stupid movies nowadays. If i pick up few of his last movies like De Dana Dan, Housefull, Kambaqt Ishq, CC2C, Singh is King, Welcome etc, there is not a single movie which i regretted watching. However, i still try to watch a movie forgetting what the cast and crew had done earlier.

Khatta Meetha, what i believe, was promoted as a comedy, i mean i atleast got that kind of vibes from the trailers, However, it didn't turn out to be one of Akshay's out n out comedies. Thank God to that.

Khatta Meetha was not one of Priyadarshan's attempt to create another laughter riots. I only wished,  if they hadn't promoted it as one.

Cast

The biggest attraction of the movie was Akshay Kumar and if you have a comic movie in hand, i don't believe there is any better option. Akshay kumar, Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Joshi - the three usual's of a Priyadarshan movies. All of them have given a good performance.

Manoj Joshi is one actor i want to point out here. I have never talked about his earlier but he is one of my favorite character artists. He has given performances worthy of being applauded.

Trisha makes her Hindi Movie debut with this movie. She is a huge star in the Southern movie industry and have been awarded for her brilliant performances many times.

The cast of the movie looked very convincing.

Plot

Kulbhushan Kharbanda

Sachin Tichkule (AK), youngest son of former Judge Kulbhushan Kharbanda- is good for nothing. He is a small contractor, who is always low on money and drowned in debt whereas his brother in law is a big contractor and also runs the family. Sachin, tries to make a good impression on the new Municipal commissioner but get shocked seeing his ex-girlfriend, Trisha, as the new commissioner. Trisha, who's in new to the system and tries to correct it which creates issues for Sachin. He isn't able to clear his bills and thus not able to pay his workers, which means more debt. He conspires against Trisha and gets her arrested by anti-corruption department alleging her to have taken bribe from him. Trisha tries to commit suicide after that incident but is saved. Then, Sachin realizes that he is wrong and pledges to work in honest way. Parallel to that, one of the falt bridges made by Sachin's brother in law breaks killing many people. Sachin, fights for right against his own family and support Makarand deshpandey, who looses everything after the incident.

The story unfolds with how sachin fights against the bad people and his own family.



Good Point

Akshay Kumar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Urvashi Sharma , Manoj Joshi and Rajpal yadav has put in good performances but there is nothing in the script. I have heard that the original Malayalam version on the movie was a super hit, though, i haven't seen it but heard it from reliable sources. The malayalam version was also directed by Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan was not able to create the magic again

Bad Point

Well, there were many. As soon as the movie starts, with in 30 mins you can guess the climax. There were many scenes which i felt was not required but were kept for god knows what reasons. The music is bad. I didn't even like one song from the movie.

The Japanese Wife

The Japanese Wife

I first read about this movie in an article in Bangalore times. It was a Raima Sen interview and also promotion for this movie. I categorize Raima Sen in an elite group of actresses whom you can really trust for their work. In the interview, she was telling how excited she was to work with some of the best in the industry for the movie "My Japanese Wife". She told "i was excited when Arpana Sen told me she wanted to cast her in the next movie."

Arpana Sen is one of those director who's work speaks for herself. A national award winner, i don't think she requires an introduction in India, atleast. I was quite surprised with the decision of casting Raima Sen instead of Konkana Sen, with no offense, both are brilliant actors and i love to watch them both. But if you have a free resource at home, then why pay someone else to do the same. In case, you don't know it, Konkana Sen is Arpana Sen's daughter and both of them have worked together earlier also and won accolades for their work in the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Iyer".

It good to see Arpana Sen did stick to Rahul Bose as the lead in her movie and i can't seen anyone else in the industry who could have played the character better. Rahul Bose who have proved his metal as an actor in parallel cinema and also in main stream full bollywood style movies too.

It was also great to see Moushumi Chatterjee back on screen. The last time i remember i saw her was in Kareeb. She is amazing. You will be surprised to know she still carries that unique cuteness in her voice. She is still as beautiful as she ever was. Loved to watch her back.


About The Movie

The movie starts with two people Snehamoy Chatterjee (Rahul) and Miyage (Chigusa Takaku) who are pen friends. Though, the movie never tells how both of them became pen friends which was a bit distracting but you won't think about that during the movie. Snehamoy, a Bangala boy, who have lost his parents during a flood, lives with his Aunt(Mother's sister). Miyage, lives in a village in Japan with her mother and also financially weak.

Snehamoy, is very introvert and thus never had friends. But he was quite open and friendly to Miyage, whom he used to say as her best friend.

Moushumi Chatterjee and Rahul Bose

Cut-to present, Raima Sen movies in to their house as a window with 5-6 year old boy. Some years ago, Snehamoy's Aunt tried to get them married but then Snehamoy tells her that he is already married to the Miyage. Miyage sent a ring with her name engraved on it to him as a marriage proposal and Snehamoy sends her Bangles as an acceptance. Both the character are financially weak to go to each others country so decides to wait till one gets enough money to afford the trip.

As some year passes by, Miyage's mother dies of a long sickness. Then, Miyage decides to come to India but her plans gets delayed as she falls sick. Later, the Miyage's sickness is diagnosed as Cancer. When Snehamoy hears the news, he also gets tensed about her. He wants to help her but what can he do.

There are many turmoils in movie like when Snehamoy is attracted towards Sandhya (Raima Sen) etc.

Watch the movie to find out if Snehamoy meets his Japanese wife? What happens between Sandhya and Snehamoy? Did Miyagi survive the cancer?

Chigusa Takaku

Performances

Well, other than Chigusa Takaku playing Miyage, i was sure about that others will be good or leave good better or best. However,Chigusa Takaku also stands out with her performance. This is one movies you'll know that you'll like it.....even before entering the theater.

Good Points

A perfect example of Long distance relationship.......well i don't even think that this love story falls in that category. But the faith both characters show in the relationship is amazing. It's a beautiful but sad love story.

Highly Recommended. Watch the movie even if you don't understand Bangala (I saw it, you can too) or get subtitles too. Do whatever you want but watch the movie.

Pankh - Expectations

Hey All,

I don't know how many of you know about Pankh .....but this is a movie to see in the near future. It is releasing on April 4th. I have huge expectations from the movie. It is one of those rare bold movie which tries to challenge the society and their hypocrisy.
Also, it tries to explore the human mind. Human mind is as vast as a sea or the universe. There are countless emotions .......emotions you may haven't experienced yet. Emotions, feeling you may not be even get to feel in your lifetime.

What's new in this movie??

Well, same was the question i was asking but when i started searching information about the storyline, i was sadly amazed by the fact that these things has happened in this world earlier.

The Movie is about a young boy, who works in movies as a child actor. But his looks are bit girly and that's why he is mostly casted to play the Girl child in the movies. His mother also promotes this and pushes him cause of the family is poor.The pressure from family and status of the family makes it a sad situtation. This affects the boy's mind, creating gender confusion in his mind. Now, he gets confused about his likings......he thinks is what he does or likes is feminine.

Then, the young boy becomes a teen and wants to be a movie star now. He also has a Imaginary love of his life played by Bipasha Basu, who fights with him, argues with him.

The movie carries on with same confusion......cause i haven't seen the movie.....i don't know any more about the movie.

Cast

The cast of the movies is fairly unknown .......unknown as in they may not be known by many people ......but who so ever knows them.....remembers them because of there brilliant work. The cast boasts of Lilette Dubey, Ronit Roy, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Maradona Rebello and Bipasha Basu. Bipasha, is the most known actor i believe in the list, plays the imaginary love of Maradona and also will be seen portraying 9 different characters. Lilette Dubey is a renowned theater actor across India. She has also worked in movies like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Aap Ke Khatir etc. Ronit Roy and Sanjeeda Sheikh are two television personalities....and well known for there respective work.



Real Life Exmaple

This practice is quite common in Indian Movie Industry. Ahsaas Channa is one living example. She is a girl....but have been portraying a boy character in the movies. One of the recent movie she did where she played a boy was "My Friend Ganesha" and "My Friend Ganesha 2". Though about the confusion and all...may not be true here. But, that is an imagination of the director's or writer's mind.

Bold and New Face Of Indian Movies

Though, these kind of movies are less in number, but surely the movie makers are now trying to present something new to the audiences. It not like everyone wants to make romantic movies or action or comedies. The best thing is that.....now a day the audience is also accepting these kind of movies. Though those people may not be large in number but they are there. These kind of movies need to be support more than than ...these kind of director should be supported. So that people .....atleast people like me......can see the something new on the screen and don't have to switch to Hollywood or any other countries movies for a different range of movies.




I really hope this will be a good movie with good narration and everything. I want these movies to work cause this promotes the new age of cinema.

Cry Baby

Though men won't say they are emotional fool or sensitive, i like to boast about it. This is one of the primary reasons why i like to watch movies by my own alone. I have been to movies with girls but i realized the passion i have for movies makes girls uncomfortable that's why i never takes girls to movies.

I love to watch movies alone may be on TV or computer cause i don't like to be disturbed. Watching alone, especially the classic movies ........that makes my 3 hours. I can list like 10's of movies which made me cry.

Why am i writing about it today??

I saw the New Mile Sur Mera Tumhara Song. It's a song ,which i think, unites India. This is the new version of the song. The first or the older or the classic version which was written in 1988. The song was written by Piyush Panday and composed by Ashok Patki and sung by almost half of the movie industry. The new version does the same.

The song is sung in at least 13 Indian official languages though Indian has 22 Official languages and counting the unofficial one's those who don't have script.

Almost half of the Indian movie industry's legends are the part of the video. Legends like Amitabh Bachan, Yeshudas, Mammootty, Aamir Khan, Shah Ruk Khan, Salman Khan, Ashwariya Rai Bachan, Abhishek Bachan, Shilpa Shetty, Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy, Ankusha Shankar,Surya, Ritoparno Sen Sharma, Shaan Shreya Ghosal, Gurdas Maan and many other veterans of India.





This is an emotional song to every Indian. Though me being one of those Indian who are amazingly emotional, i got very emotional while watching this video too. Especially the part with Salman Khan.

The last movie i saw which made me really emotional and cry was My Sister Keeper. Really Awesome movie, recommended.

Movies You Should Watch

Today, i'm just laying out some movies which i think you may haven't seen because of these movies being in different languages but nonetheless.......these are awesome movies with some thing different to offer you. All filled with great performances by the cast....and every aspect seems to be so perfect here.

So here we go.....

1 - The Sex Movie

Yea, as the name suggest...its is related to sex but i say its more related to sexuality. I meant sexual orientation of people. This a story of four friend - two guys and two gals - with differnet sexualities. One guy is straight, second is gay and one girl is bi-sexual while second is lebian. The story is about a night when they decide to get back and sit togther cause they haven't spent some quality time with each other. And on this nite, they get into this discussion of who's sexuality is better and why? How they are the way the world should be?



Really interesting stroy and please listen carefully what they say......the dailogs are the best part of this movie. Hands down to all the performers too.




2 - Trade

This movie has different languages like german, polish, english and may be others too. This movie is about a guy whose sister is kidnapped by people who sell young girls to rich people for money.
How the guy saves his sister from being forced into this dirty business? Awesome movie, look out for the guy, he is a talent.
One scene which is my fav when the polish lady jumps of the cliff of the mountain...... and her last word were to the guy who kiddnapped her "i'll make sure you pay for it" and then she jumps......that was an awesome scene........it really tears you apart.






3 - After Sex

Another awesome movie. Well you can say it is a collection of small short stroies. Its like you buy a book of short stroies. Ok, the movie is not about sex again .....well ....yea it is. Ok, this is about what different people talk about after they are done with "it". There are lots of different situations ......like guy with her sex buddy who don't love her but she never takes her seriously, to lesbian friends , to gay friends...where when one encourages other to come out of closet,
another where a gay pair argues who is the BUTCH and who's the BITCH in the pair cause both are very manly, then there is this old pair who have done a lot of different things in there younger years.....and says what will happen if their kids know it and also about one nite stands.

Its an awesome movie with good stories....surely this will surprise you.






4 - Persepolis

This is an animated movie langage....English, German and Persian.. This is the story about a girl who lived in Iran at the time when Taliban was taking over....telling how beautiful and liberated the country was earlier and what changes have been made in that period of time. This is a funny take on the enviornment then. The girl is a rebel which she learns from her grandfather. Many things you will know about that time. Great movie.










5 - Children Of Heaven
This is a persian movie and based on the book. I think the few movie i have mentioned in the list this is the most famous movie but people skip it cause its not in their language. Please watch it if you haven't seen it till now.


This is about a brother and sister relationship. where the brother looses his shoes somewhere....but mature enough to understand that the family can't afford a new pair rite now. So, the kids decide they will not tell their parent about it and will exchange the sister's pair to school because of the different timing of school, it helped.

The movie is really moving and i think this movie have been remade in many languages. I have heard one Indian director is also making in Hindi.

6 - Dev D
Watch Dev D, this is based on the movies "Devdas" which were based on the book "Devdas". This is a mordern take on the book. Its not easy to explain whole history behind this DEVDAS character.


The story is about a guy ,devdas, who is in love with a gal since his childhood. When he returns from London after his grad, they meet again and hit it off well. But cause of some misunderstanding ....they break up and gal marries another guy. This depresses Devdas....and he starts taking ....alchol and drugs...and bemoes a drugie......and then starts visiting prostitues...well actually only one prostitue......who falls in love with Devdas......how the story unviels ahead....Will he get his love back.....??? or the prostitues get her love....???

Awesome performances by the cast.






7 - Ba Bo
This is a Korean movie and one of the most recent one's in the list. This movie is about a retard brother whose parent die and now he is left with his small daughter and have to take care of her. Cut to the younger year.......where he owns a small shop....just outside his sister's school....his sister hates him cause he is retard and embarrasses her in fornt of people. Also the retard guy love a girl.....and he has a friend. So there is lot to watch in this movie. This movie is full of emotions......if you are a girl then watch for this movie cause it can get you a lot of tears.......



Watch the person in the lead role......he is so convincing in the movie. Hats of to the movie and all the cast and crew.

Kambhaqt Ishq - What Happened To AK 47

Another disappointing movie by Akshay kumar and now i'm getting frustated by the movie he is picking these days. I mean this may not be his not be a folp movie but this is certainly a stupid movie. Akshay is doing this for a long time now. It all started with Welcome, followed by Singh is King and then Chandini chowk to China, came again with Tasveer and now with this movie, so the count is 5 stupid movie on a trot. Now, after all this you can't even pick on the director or the story because it can be for a couple of movie a max but it was Akshay who picked up these 5 movies. I know Singh is King and Kambhaqt Ishq are two super hit movie who earned a lot of money.

About the movie, this is a stupid movie and would never recommend any person to watch it. Now a days i think of why am i watching Indian movies because what releases on every friday can't be called a movie. The stroy is picked from a couple of different movies and i won't say it being "inspired" cause the story writer has picked the whole of the basic plot and then making a Hindi version of it and then too they don't admit it.

Kareena kapoor, i never liked this actress god knows why. No, no i know it.....she is a bad actress.........and who ever saying that she was good in Jab We Met would certainly like to enlighten that person. Jab We Met was a pure exellence of Imtiaz Ali and yes his excellence which made Kareena kapoor look good on the screen. I can make sure, thi Imtiaz Ali guy, he'll make it big in the Indian cinema. Kareena have blowen away all the great chances she had. I think Dev and Chameli were the golden chances of her life which she blew really good and the best part she always makes you realize that she isn't a good actress very consistently. You can count almost all the movie into this list. The one that tops of'em all is Khushi some others Tashan, Main prem ki diwani hoo, mujh se dosti karoge, Golmaal returns, kambhaqt ishq, Ashoka, 36 china town, fida etc. I mean you can count them all.

Other star cast isn't also impressive. Amrita Arora being pulled in the movie only for showing skin and Aftab doing what he does the best, not performing. The hollywood people roped in were Sly Stylone, Brandon Routh, Holly valance and Denise Richards.

Saekjeuk shigong -- Sex Is Zero

I have seen a lot of sex comidies. Yea, i have also gone through my teens and loved most of these movies. SuperBad was my fav of them all and most of the movies i have seen have been from the west. But this one is from east, not the first korean movie i have seen(i'll write about them later).

Ok about this movie. It has all the content, i mean you'll get to a lot of boobs and butts in this movie(so as a teenager, your dream comes true). The movie has a really funny character as the main lead, you can say that. I really liked that guy(sorry can't give out names here cause sorry again.......their name ain't that easy to remeber or pronouce). Moving ahead, the girl in the leading character was like the best and beautiful girl but one thing more.....its really hard for me to distinguish between girls and guys from east...........they all kinda look same ..... sorry if that hurts too.

Ok, more about the movie. Movie has some really awesome comedy scenes, OMG i was laughing so loud people behind the wall could hear me easily. Some of the jokes were tacky, people eating shity things and doing shity things.

Leaving that apart, the good thing about the movie is the main story line which ends up in a superb fashion. The love story, how it twists and turns in the end were awesome. The scene were the main lead male character is trying to make her laugh but manages to get only tears ........awesome. I don't cry that much during sex comedies but i did and that is something i love about the romantic movie.

This is a awesome movie. If you can rent it or watch it on theater.........go to the torrent site and download this movie from the internet. This movie is worth your time.

He's Just Not That Into You -- Good For One Time

I have been been a Drew Barrymore fan and not just as an actor but also as a producer.

Ginnifer Goodwin - Justin long Scarlett Johansson - Bradley Cooper - Jennifer Connelly Ben Affleck - Jennifer Aniston


Donnie Darko is one of my fav. So was expecting a good movie from her again. Also the movie has a good if not great cast especially the female cast, very attractive. I have seen Scarlett Johansson's 3 movie and last one was "Vicky, christina barcelona" , good movie to watch. So to make it short, i wanted to see the movie as soon as i saw the trailors of this movie.

I waited for the DVD to be released and then rented and watched it.

The good things about this movie is obviously the story and how well the all the different stories are been weaved into one big one. I loved Scarlett in the movie, also Justin long and Ginnifer Goodwin. Also i loved the characters, probably i won't remember the name of the actor who played the character but i'll remember the characters for long time like Gigi, Bradley Cooper to mention. Also I liked the love stories which were the part of this movie. My fav was Scarlett Johansson - Bradley Cooper - Jennifer Connelly. I liked Drew also and the comparision she makes between what the mess online dating system is and how convenient the offline dating is? One more good thing about the movie is that the screen space was distributed very intelligently. The character i wanted to watch were given much space or time on the screen.


One bad thing you can say about the movie is that, we have seen a lot of date movies. I Know the stories can be very different but still it gives you a De ja Vu kind of feeling.

Paying Guest -- Return me my 2 hrs

Heard a lot about this movie such as its being made on a very popular play. A play which was a housefull whenever performed at any city. Also was expecting a lot from the cast of the movie especially people like Shreyas Talpade and Neha Dhupia who have been some of my fav in last couple of years. Also the other cast was same whom you will always see in a multi starer moive like Riya sen, Celina jaitly, Javed jaffery, Ashish chaudary etc.

One of the major reason why this was a hit as a play was the script but the same was opposite in the movie. There were comic scenes but they felt more like being imposed. They didn't made me laugh. Sometimes the comedy was irritating. Also don't think the actors were able to much because the script didn't gave them a chance. Celina and Riya were at their same......as they do usually.

Didn't find anything positive about the movie. So won't really suggest you watch this movie. Even then you want to dare, then check out for Shreyas and Javed especially when they play the wife.

Its Her B’Day……..Amisha Patel ( 9- June)

She is the best to me, atleast to me. She is the one who struck me from day one when I saw her in her debut movie “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai”. Although I didn’t liked the movie that much but liked her in the movie. I don’t know what it was which attracted me to her but there was certainly something and that feeling still continues in heart. It may be cause of I’m a scorpion (my sun sign) and we scorpions do have this especial characteristic of “loving being in long relationships”.

The more I found about her, the movie I liked her. Its not that she is the best actress in the whole wide world or in Indian cinema. I never said I liked her cause of her acting talent but she has the potential which was never being exploited by any of the directors or movie makers.

There were a few movies of her I liked like Humraaz, Gadar, Kya yahi pyaar hai. She also gave some of industries biggest hits like Gadar, Kaho naa Pyaar hai but unfortunately the actors took all the credit for the movie being a hit. Like Hritik roshan did in “kaho na pyaar hai” (obviously promoted more by his father for the movie……which made him a super star), Sunny deol for Gadar and Akshaye khanna for Humraaz. Its not that these stars were not good in the movie but Amisha should have been given more credit than she received.

Leaving all these things behind, she also took up some wrong movies in her career. Some of the movie in last 4-5 years have been sabotaging her career more than helping her. More pain added by her family problems during this course. And now she is been tagged as a multi star actress. But I hope she does some big things in her career. I’m waiting for that with my fingers crossed.

Also one of her best feature is that she is as intelligent as she is beautiful. You can look at her academics she’s been a great student and one of the most qualified people of the industry.

Okk I don’t want to say more but for the last time ………… she is my first choice if I’ll ever get one in my life.

Realty Bites Needed In Indian Movie Industry

Lately I saw many of the movies from Hollywood or other domains of movie making world. The common thing about all these movie were that they all based on some real life characters like “American gangster”, “catch me if you can”, “Remember the titans”, “The great debaters”, “Gia”, “Becoming Jane ” and many other too.

Also with these kind of movies one thing I felt was why we don’t have movies like these based on real life incidents made more often in our Indian film industry? And if somebody says that there have been movies like these then I would like to say those movies were rather based on ideal people like Mahatma Gandhi , Subash Chandra Bose , Bhagat Singh or if the movie is really made on some true stories then the ultimate product or the movie is so different from the reality. There have been a few movie based like “Bawander” can’t remember more which depicts the real misery of the victim lady but the movie didn’t reach the masses and left as something to been shown in Film Festivals.

This present time is the best time for the filmmakers to make movies, which really shows their talent as the multiplex culture gives them the option to try hands with something new and real life characters and achievers is one realm still to be tamed in India.

There should be people who achieve something and are ideals of Indian people other than the freedom fighters.


Really would like to movie exploring this realm and also hope if made will be appreciated by people cause that is also important to support the makers not only the appreciation.
