27 Dresses – The Best Bride’s Maid

When I saw the promos saying “she is the new Bridget Jones”, I got excited cause I’m a Rene fan and loved the “Bridget jones diary” movie. When I heard some good comments about this movie I was certain too watch this movie first day first show in India.

Ultimately I got the tickets and saw this movie. When I saw this movie couldn’t restrict my self from comparing both movies and also Kathrine to Renne. Katherine was very good in the movie and the character she plays felt so real as if I know somebody like her. The movie is very well observed.

This was the first Katherine Heigl movie I have seen. I was very impressed and would like to see more of her in the upcoming years. James Marsden was quite good too. Have seen a few of his movie like the X- Men series and found a new side of his or a new dimension of his talent.

Well there nothing bad about the movie. Surely a one time watch able and many people may like it too. Especially the part when jane shows off her 27 wedding dresses to Kevin, that scene is the best of the movie.

Enjoy this movie.

Full Monty – I Liked This One

This movie is British and is full of British accent which means if you are not British or can’t understand British accent then its will be difficult for you to understand this one same as I had problem while watching it.

The movie is about a father who is on the verge of loosing his son cause he can’t afford to give a better living and also had some criminal charges against him. One day he gets an idea from the men stripper group in town, which was to go Full Monty in front of the female crowd, give them what they wanted and then he can generate money for himself. So he calls in his friends to search other members of the group. But there are still some questions to be answered such as will they be accepted because two guys in the group are skinny, one is fat and two are old. Will the group be a success? Many other questions are raised and solved in the movie.

But the moral of the movies is not to loose hope. How the group reaches the stage of the first performance is the story with many obstacles in the line.

Good movie to watch.

The Namesake – Tabu and Irfan does is brilliantly

Tabu is a well-known actress in India and mainly known for her acting potential and versatility. She showed all of her class in the movie. Just flaunts her potential. She was brilliant at the sad sequences and I may say it character was very well observed.

On other hand, Irfan khan need no introduction on the international front with many a Hollywood movies under his belt and also known for his good work. He is one the newest finding of the Indian film industry. With some brilliant performances already achieved in his short career, this one will also be rated among them.

The namesake inspired from Jumpa Lahri’s novel is a beautiful adaptation and the credit goes to Mira Nair. The movie explores the Indian values and justifies the word namesake.

This is really a wonderful movie and wouldn’t like to tell more because it will make it less juicy to watch.

Khuda Ke Liye – Longer We Waited, More The Sweeter The Fruit Is

40 years after, atlast a Pakistani movie is released in India and it was really worth waiting for so long. This movie is the out of the League movie. Being Indian, I have seen many movies were the moviemaker’s tried to lift above the religion and present a story where they can show equality and freedom in society or our nation or any nation. But this is the best of them. There was also another of this kind of movie based on riots in India which was also very effective. 

This movie is awesome with its music, story and purpose obviously the bottomline of the movie. Taking on music, the music is beautiful ranging and covering most of the genres of music in this part of the world. “Bandeya” was my personal favorite, which flaunts the fusion of two different genres of music, which came up really good. Other songs with “sufiana” style are heavenly.

The way the story starts, I mean the first scene, when a Muslim man scolds his said to be Muslim friend for letting her daughter date an English boy. It made me exciting and I was already thinking of what would be the climax of the movie. This movie shows two very different stories, simultaneously and beautifully. This movie depicts which may be said as the two major problems of Islam one is other non-Islamic countries and people look upto them as terrorist and the other is misrepresentation of Islam among Muslim people. 

The dialogs in the movie are very fulfilling. You can really feel the naturalness in the dialogs. There are not some hi-flying discussions where people are flaunting their knowledge or vocabulary with out any reason. Personally I liked the dialogs of the misguiding Maulana and Nassi-udin-shah ji in the movie.

Well this movie is really a treat with some moral as its metaphor.

College Road Trip – Didn’t Like This One

Just saw this movie by chance. I didn’t had the feel of watching it but was accidentally free and decided to take a look. I had seen Martine Lawrence in a few movie earlier and this was also like one of his many earlier one’s. Also have seen Raven on TV show.

But the movie is very weak with its story. It isn’t that good to hold an audience. The story is also very predictable and some of the scenes or happen to funny scenes gave me the feeling that I have seen this earlier.

Can’t figure out if there was something good about the movie.

I can’t give it more than 2 out of 10 stars.

The Station Agent – Standing out

This is one of its kind movie that I have seen and was really exciting from the day one when I heard about. Then I searched about and saw some of its trailers which made it more exciting to me. Well I had saw Peter in Penelope before but didn’t knew about his this movie.

Well the movie is about small or dwarf or nanus, which is played by Peter Dinklage. He inherits a house far from the city and moves there after his only family dies. Being a dwarf he always had that paranoid feeling especially cause of the way people of the city treated him that’s why he didn’t had much friends and liked to live alone. But at the new place some people try to know him whom he firstly tries to back off but then became friend with them. This movie is about a small phase of this man’s life.

The movie is beautiful and as I had never seen any story like this before it was extremely good for me.

Black And White – Could have been better

Black and white do came up with something not normal on screen these days and really raises some very important issues in the story but when it ends it left me with the feeling of something better could have been done. It may be only my opinion but many of my known ones also thought there was have been something missing at the end.

Anil kapoor is good in the movie, saw him after a long time in a character which you can was written for him. But the stand out performance of the movie was by Shafali Shah. Mainly known for her small and pivotal characters in the movies and you can’t miss her in any one of her movies. Her performance speaks all for her. I was a bit disappointed with the new actor launched in this movie Anurag sinha (don’t know the exact name) but think there could have been better performance and I think that performance in this character was the most important thing.

Other than Shefali Shah ji there were few more good things in the movie like the music and singing by Sukhwinder singh. That shaadi song and “jogi aaya” song were just fabulous. Sukhwinder brings always that folk feeling to me. He is one of the best in the industry with his unique style of singing that bring so much of energy to the songs, just love his singing.

This movie does bring a message and moral to the people and it was good and presented fairly.

I’ll give this movie a 6 out of 10.
