De Ja Vu – Confused

This is first movie of Denzal Washington which I didn’t like as much as I did earlier one’s. Don’t exactly know the cause may be the story or may I don’t like Si-Fi movies.May be the dialogs that were somewhat confusing to me. May be cause I felt that Denzal was looking something we call out of touch here.

I’m a huge admirer of Denzal Washington and he is my favorite but I can say that this is the only denzal wahishington movie, of all I have seen, which I didn’t like. I think the movie was also not well treated. The whole time machine thing can confuse a lot of people.

Performances in the movie were what can I say as good. I really think the story or the basic plot had the potential of being a goo movie but the ultimate product was not up to the level to take it through.

Still I can give this movie 6 stars out of 10.

Disturbia

Movie is pretty good. I think the plot isn’t that new or something exciting but the end product the movie turned out to be good. Some credible performances make this movie worth watching.

The story start with an accident where the young kid survives and feels miserable and couldn’t save his father. Watching his father die in front of him makes him paranoid. Cut - to a year later, the boy still not fully recovered and hits out on his professor for saying something not so good. The boy gets a house hitched and now has to live in the boundaries of his house. Being bored he involves himself in a homicide murderer roaming in the city and thinks that his neighbor is the guy. Is the neighbor the homicide and how the boy nails him is the story.

The movie is good. Thrills you at some moment. Good to watch.

Bedazzled

Don’t know why I saw this movie. The basic plot or story of the movie is something I have seen or heard when I was a kid. “The poor desperate guy sells his soul to the devil” thing.

Didn’t like the movie at all. Although there were some good things in the movie like Liz hurly was looking hot as the devil. But overall there was nothing good about this movie. Brendon plays the poor and desperate guy who signs the contract to give his soul to devil for 7 wishes. But whatever he wishes comes out to be completely different. How he untangles himself from devils web is the story.

Don’t watch this movie if you are a Brendon Fraser fan or you’ll be disappointed as I’m.

Along Came Polly

This is also one of Ben steller’s those movie that cannot be classified as bad or very good. I would like to keep in between of them. The movie feels good with touch of comedy and romance in it. Can’t keep it in very good movies because it isn’t that good. But surely a good entertainer. Its not one those brainless comedies.

The movie revolve around Rubin played by Ben whose wife betrays him on their honeymoon and leaves him for another guy saying that she is confused and can’t decide between ben and the other guy. Rubin comes back to job and accidentally meets her classmate from school and falls for her, thinking that his wife Lisa won’t come back. But story takes a twist when Lisa does come back. How Rubin reacts to this situation is what this movie about.

A good entertainment guaranteed.

Mithya – Ranvir Shorey Is One Of The Best In Industry Today

Its always been interesting to watch Rajat Kapoor on screen with his interesting characters he play. But this time Rajat kapoor has done something different by directing his first movie.

The movie is very entertaining flirting with all the elements of a movie and makes you laugh and cry with in few moments. Mithya boasts of some very talented actors in the cast. Names like Nassirudin shah, need nothing to be explained about and Ranvir Shorey’s friends like Vinay Pathak. It felt like these people are in some mutual deal that you do my movie and I do your, as Rajat Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey played major characters in Vinay Pathak’s directorial debut “Bheja fry”. Other surprise performance in the movie came from Neha Dhupia who surprised me again after her earlier movie “Ek challis ki local train”.

The movie is good, with the basic plot of the movie being good I think it wasn’t that easy to produce it exactly same. The movie revolves around a small junior artist who earns by performing small characters in the movies. One day he accidentally gets involve in a gang war and tries to help police to nail the people involved. But the gang members identifies his resemblance with the Don of the city and their counterpart. They plans to plot him in place of the don. The movie takes a lot of twist and turns making it more interesting and gripping. The movie enters a little serious note after the interval, so people who think this is a comedy are proved wrong. What happens to the junior artist when he enters the gang? And how everything evolves is the story.

This performance by Ranvir shorey can be counted as the best in 2008 till and think will be one of the best of the year. Rajat kapoor’s debut with this movie is excellent. Would like to see more from him.

Ten Things I Hate About You – Simple, Sweet And Intelligent

This is one of those intelligent movies where a more than good effort made the movie look and feel so beautifully in the theater. With a very simple story line, the director has done a brilliant job.

I was really impressed by the performance put up by the stars. Julia stiles was so good in the character that I can award him the best thing in the movie. Joseph Gordon was so sweet, cute looked like an elementary guy getting in to the college. But he was good too. Heath ledger (late) I saw this movie because of him. I heard a lot of things about this guy but unfortunately after his death by overdose. I’m trying to watch as many of Heath ledger movies I can and with each movie I have seen of him I’m liking him more. This movie is also his that where he showed he had a lot of potential and talent to be a good actor. Larisa Oleynick played that I’m so pretty character good.

The music of the movie is awesome. My favorite was “I want you to want me, I need you to need me”.

What ever you do, buy this movie rent this movie, just watch it. One of the best teen movies you’ll ever watch

As I said in the last post and will say again “I have been really lucky with movies I watch as all turned out, till now, fabulous ”. This is movie is another one in the long string of fabulous movies I saw.

The movie beautifully depicts the beautiful relationship of friendship and at the same time also explores the other parts and emotions of life. The movie starts with 4 BFF’s (read best friends). The have been together in low’s and high’s of each others life. At 17 year, all are trying to do something new in this summer vacations. So Lena decides to see her grandparents in Greece, Carmen decides to visit her Dad who lived in different state after the divorce, Bridget decides to join soccer training camp and Tibby decides to stay at home and work on her documentary. On the eve of the day they were separating they find a pair of jeans which surprisingly fits all four of them, surprising cause they were of different shape and sizes.
They decide to share this pair of jeans and believed this pair of jeans will bring luck to the life of the girls. Then what and how the jeans bring to their life? Is the plot of the story.
This movie is a beautiful woven movie that’s why it can make you cry, make you smile and make you feel all the emotions presented on the screen.

I liked the story of the movie; this was one of the movies, which I wanted to watch by seeing the very interesting promos of the movie. I have been very lucky with movies from last month to till now. Whichever movie I saw was more than better, each and every one of them.

The movie is about a person with very boring and at the same time very predictable life. Being an accountant he also developed a habit of counting things, everything, the number of brush stokes during brushing teeth, counting the number of blocks to the bus stop etc. Suddenly one day he starts listening a voice, which kind of is narrating his life and him being a character of a story. What is this voice and how is he related to this voice is a strange relation established. But as they say truth is always stranger than fiction, this movie proves that thing.

Movie is good to watch with emotions, tragedy and some credible performances by Dustin Hoffman, Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal and other stars like Emma Thompson and Queen Latifah.

If you like to watch some tragedy and drama then this is a movie you can see this Sunday.

Madagarcar -- Animated movies are here to stay

If anybody in the world says that animated movies are for kids then he is the most stupid person of the world. With movies like Madagascar, Finding nemo, cars, happy feet etc there is so much for the kids to get inspire from. These are the perfect movies which induces the morals most important to make a good human being.

Like all the other animated movies, this movie too has a very good moral associated with it and adults of the world can also learn much from these kind of movies cause it doesn't seem that they still remember the morals taught to them when they were kids.

The movie have a good story line. The thing is i have seen another animated movie which was a bit similar to this movie. another thing is that i don't know much about "How to describe an animated movie". But take my words this is a good movie and should watch this movie. And also try to watch if not all then most of the animated movies.

Remember The Titans -- Denzal is like an conjuror

Have seen many of Denzal washington movies now but "Remember The Titans " still is my favorite Denzal movie. The man does it so easily that it makes tough for others to keep upto him.

The movie is just perfect to me. Comprising of inspiring performances by all the stars and crew. This can be easily seen by watching the movie cause the ultimate product(the movie is perfect). I like all the things about the movie starting from the performance put up by the actors to screenplay to distributing screen space between all the guys and a good script. I like the fact that the young actors of the movie were not dominated by the seniors in the movie, they all had their moments in the movie.

Don't know much about the technicalities of movie making but i'm sure when a movie is made which feels so good on screen then the technicalities must have been perfect. Wish Denzal would have won an oscar for that.

Why people say budget (2008) as Dream Budget ????

This was PC’s (P. Chidambram’s) 7th budget but what made this budget especial and something to which whole nation was looking eagerly towards was that the elections are around the corner. Even a common man like me knew this budget will offer something to cheer for the common man, obviously cause of the elections and that is what it turned out to be, may easily can be classified as the best budget presented or the “Dream Budget” as they (read media) say.

But what are the things that make it so especial? The major cheering point was the changes in the ranges of Income tax slab. With income 1.5 L being exempted from being taxed, the common can take a sigh of relief. Same can be said to the others classifications of the slabs. There also been cut off’s on excise duty on general rate, cars, two wheelers and most important the life saving drugs. With these tax slashing the small cars are now Rs 20G’s cheaper.

The budget also raised the service tax exemption limit for small service provider upto Rs. 10L and also the tax on cash withdrawal has been scrapped.

With about Rs. 50,000 crore worth of loans, that overdue till December, being completely written off. Also let off for the bigger farmers as they now have to pay 75% of their loans if they like to not pay the 4th quarter of loan amount and this let off is worth Rs. 10,000 crore.

With this kind of large exemptions for both the farmers and the common man, the opposition and lefties couldn’t argue with PC and this should have given a moment for the congress party to cheer about.

The budget also has some bad things too like raise in outlays of health, education but overall from a common man’s vantage point this budget better than expected.

Realty Bites Needed In Indian Movie Industry

Lately I saw many of the movies from Hollywood or other domains of movie making world. The common thing about all these movie were that they all based on some real life characters like “American gangster”, “catch me if you can”, “Remember the titans”, “The great debaters”, “Gia”, “Becoming Jane ” and many other too.

Also with these kind of movies one thing I felt was why we don’t have movies like these based on real life incidents made more often in our Indian film industry? And if somebody says that there have been movies like these then I would like to say those movies were rather based on ideal people like Mahatma Gandhi , Subash Chandra Bose , Bhagat Singh or if the movie is really made on some true stories then the ultimate product or the movie is so different from the reality. There have been a few movie based like “Bawander” can’t remember more which depicts the real misery of the victim lady but the movie didn’t reach the masses and left as something to been shown in Film Festivals.

This present time is the best time for the filmmakers to make movies, which really shows their talent as the multiplex culture gives them the option to try hands with something new and real life characters and achievers is one realm still to be tamed in India.

There should be people who achieve something and are ideals of Indian people other than the freedom fighters.


Really would like to movie exploring this realm and also hope if made will be appreciated by people cause that is also important to support the makers not only the appreciation.

Bridget Jones Diary – Nice Weekend Movie

I saw this movie for Renne because I have seen her in “Chicago” and “Cold Mountain” and yea also in “Me, myself and Irene” so wanted to see more of her good movie. My friend suggested me watch this so I did on Friday eve and here’s what I thought??

The movie tries depicts the not so enjoyable life of single woman and afraid of that she’ll be like this all her life and will have to live her life with her 56 cats at the end. So she resolves to be fit and look more beautiful so that she won’t be single on her upcoming 33rd birthday. Surrounded by few weird character like her uncle who always try to grab her b**ty or her mom who is always trying to fix her with someone or her colleague in the office who she finds always looking at her t**s. She is frustrated with this kind of life. Some how she gets the chance to get close to her boss and falls head over heels for him. Also there is another guy who her mother tried to fix her with, who somehow always managed to accidentally meet her almost everywhere she goes.

With some predicable twists and turns in the movie which made it a little less exciting to me. But the movie is good, Renne is really good in the movie. With her strange kind of comic style, which I liked in the movie, the movie is good. Would like to recommend to all the readers. And also if you people don’t know, Renne got an oscar nomination for this movie ……so you can guess that it must be good.

The Simpson’s movie – Homer Rocks

You won’t find a more feebleminded person on the face of this holy earth than HOMER SIMPOSON and that’s a guarantee. The movie is good or I can say better than good. I haven’t seen “The Simpson’s” on T.V. before and now I regret this. If Homer simpson was always like that then I really regret to miss such a master piece.

There are only good things about this movie, that I can think of. I saw the whole movie and didn’t even blink through the whole movie. It was so exciting and funny. Obviously my favorite character was Mr. Homer Simpson and all the credit goes to the makers for that.

The script, plot, screenplay, dialogs etc………somebody just tell me how can I see more of Homer cause its only his name now I can remember from the movie and that’s cause I liked his character so much.

When he tries to sink through the hole in the movie was my best of the movie and won’t be easy to forget. This movie also has an advantage cause there were not much “good” animated movies made last year.

This movie is a 90 minutes of joy ride with non-stop fun and with a character as stupid and pudden-headed as Homer simpson is obviously you wouldn’t want to miss this one.
